Hello! My name is Yilin Huang. I am now currently a graduate student at Georgetown University, majoring in Communication, Culture & Technology (CCT). For my undergraduate studies, I graduated from Shenzhen University, China, with a B.A in Management. My passion lies in the field of business communication, as well as the interplay between art and technology, which are the two main reasons that led me to the CCT program. 

I am fascinated by the power of communication to brings changes in business. From my past experience in a student-run art startup and a local golf club, I am always amazed by the nuance in communication plans that can cause a big difference, no matter the macro business strategy or the micro user education. For example, in the art startup, by broadening our communication strategy beyond campus, I was able to reach a broader customer base.Here at Georgetown, I am developing tools such as communication and marketing skills. This semester, I am not only learning the best Corporate Social Responsibility communication strategies of each firm from the cases, but I am also working with my classmates and Professor Matthews to offer a complete improvement campaign for Bibti, which aims at ensuring women a safe walk home.

I am also interested in how art  can  positively affect the wellbeing of society. I can always find healing and peace from digital illustrations, city architecture, museums, galleries, etc. Technology, at the same time, is not only a new channel of presenting art but also serves in the role of art itself. Developing the skills that link art with technology is another focus of mine. This semester, I am working on a game that calls attention to Arctic creatures and their environment in the course Game and Programming in Unity. I am also a volunteer at Professor Barba’s lab to work on a game that better approaches the interactions between the police and civilians. 

After graduation, I see myself working in a communication, marketing, or creative role. I am especially interested in the art and sports industry, but I will happily bring a positive energy wherever I go.
